Stabilize Your Denture or Replace an Entire Arch with All-On-4
All-on-4 Dental Implants
If you are missing teeth, it can be a significant source of embarrassment. More importantly, tooth loss can have a serious negative impact on your bite and your oral health, especially if you are missing all of your teeth on one or both arches.
All-on-4® dental implants support a custom denture, often replacing an entire arch of teeth without the need for bone grafting. Our doctors use advanced nSequence® technology to maximize the accuracy and effectiveness of this dental implant surgery.

About the All-on-4 Treatment Concept
When replacing missing teeth with dental implants, it is not necessary to replace every single tooth with an implant post. While traditional full-arch replacement requires six to eight implants per arch, the All-on-4 treatment method can replace an entire arch of missing teeth using only four implants. This is achieved by placing two vertical implants near the front of the jawbone, and two angled implants at the back of the bone ridge. Because this type of placement maximizes contact between the implants and jawbone, patients who have experienced some bone recession over time can still qualify for this type of treatment without the need for bone grafting. In many cases, those who have worn traditional dentures for years can now receive a fixed full-arch prosthesis.
Who is a Candidate for All-on-4 Implants?
All-on-4 dental implants are an excellent treatment option for many of our patients. You could be eligible for this type of treatment if you:
- Are in good general health and are free from any medical conditions that could compromise your healing or the success of your treatment
- Have healthy gums (those with periodontal disease will require treatment before receiving dental implants)
- Are missing most or all teeth on the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both
- Do not smoke (tobacco products can significantly compromise your body’s ability to heal properly)
In most cases, the denture can be attached immediately after the implants have been placed.
All-on-4 Treatment Process
Recent advances in dental technology allow surgeons to place implants with incredible accuracy. At Smile Montreal, our doctors utilize nSequence technology to provide predictable treatment for our patients. Using an i-CAT® 3-D imaging system, your doctor can analyze the teeth, jawbone, and crucial orofacial landmarks, such as the maxillary sinuses and the mandibular nerves. Using these images, a custom surgical guide can be fabricated. This device is placed over the bone ridge during surgery to mark the optimal locations for your new implants. Simply stated, guided surgery minimizes the margin of error in placing implants.
In most cases, All-on-4 implant surgery is performed under sedation for your comfort. The day of your surgery, your doctor numbs the gums with local anesthesia. Next, the surgical guide is placed over the arch and the implants are positioned into the jawbone. This process can typically be completed in an hour or two at our office. In most cases, the denture can be attached immediately after the implants have been placed.
