Achieve a Fuller Smile with a Dental Bridge

If you have experienced tooth loss and have gaps left by missing teeth, a dental bridge can help you achieve a fuller and more functional smile that looks and feels incredibly natural. Drs. Charles and Patrick Casey offer both traditional and implant-supported bridges, so patients can select the option that best meets their needs. Regardless of the type of bridge you choose, you could leave our Montreal, QC, office feeling confident in your smile once again.

A traditional bridge involves reshaping the healthy teeth adjacent to the gap in your smile to accommodate a custom-made restoration.

Improve Your Smile with a Dental Bridge

A dental bridge serves to fill gaps of one, two, or three missing teeth in a row. By replacing those missing teeth with a dental bridge, you can restore function to your smile, making simple tasks like eating and speaking more comfortable. At Smile Montreal, we are proud to offer two different types of bridges to meet your unique needs.

The candidacy requirements differ slightly depending on the type of bridge you select. Since a traditional bridge is supported by two dental crowns, your nearby teeth must be healthy and free from damage or decay. If you prefer an implant-supported bridge, you must have adequate bone tissue in your jaw to support the dental implants. In addition, all patients interested in restoring their smiles with a dental bridge or any other oral prosthetic must be free from gum disease and be in good overall health.

Personalized Treatment Process

At Smile Montreal, we tailor every treatment and procedure for each of our patients. After meeting with Dr. Charles or Patrick Casey to determine which type of bridge you need, they can help you select the materials for your restoration. Most patients prefer tooth-colored options, such as porcelain or zirconia, which are both durable and natural-looking.

By replacing missing teeth with a dental bridge, you can restore function to your smile, making simple tasks like eating and speaking more comfortable.

If you decide a traditional bridge is right for you, we will begin by reshaping your nearby teeth so that they can better accommodate the crowns. Once we have completed this step, we will take impressions of your teeth and gums. We may place a temporary restoration to protect these teeth and give you some functionality, as it can take up to two weeks for the lab to craft your custom bridge. When the bridge is ready, you can return to our office where we can cement the permanent bridge in place.

Patients who opt for an implant-supported bridge have a much lengthier treatment timeline. After surgically placing the dental implants, there is a three to six month healing period. Only when that phase is complete can we take impressions and place your dental bridge.

Benefit of These Beautiful Restorations

Dental bridges offer both aesthetic and functional benefits. Gaps in your grin may have left you insecure or embarrassed with your smile. A lifelike dental bridge can fill those gaps to give you a fuller, more beautiful smile. Additionally, you could enjoy significant improvements in function, allowing you to eat all the foods you love and speak with confidence. Traditional bridges can keep your surrounding teeth in place, preventing misalignment while an implant-supported bridge will prevent further bone loss.
